Begin the Holiday Season with a trip to the country. Kragel's Christmas Trees and Traditions invite you to begin or continue the tradition of harvesting a fresh grown Iowa Christmas tree. Kragel's tree farm is located in a quiet and peaceful setting near the Winnebago River in the rolling hills of North Central Iowa
.
Kragel’s Christmas Trees and Traditions is owned and operated by Twylah and Mark Kragel. We planted our first trees in 1979. Our 10 acre plantation of trees include Scotch and Norway Pine, Colorado Blue Spruce, and Fraser, Douglas, and Balsam Fir. We are members of the Iowa Christmas Tree Growers Association and support the Trees for Troops Program. Customer service is our priority. We strive to provide our customer a great experience that will begin Holiday traditions and memories. We were honored to provide a Christmas Tree for the Iowa State Capitol Rotunda in 2004 and in 2006.
Our customers can take their time choosing the right fresh trees in our mown clean field lots. You can harvest your own tree with provided saws or we will harvest your tree for you. We will carry your tree out of the field, machine shake your tree, net your tree for easy handling and load your tree into your vehicle. We have great tree stands that allow for quick and easy set-up. For those who don't want to walk the fields, we will have fresh trees already harvested and set up in the loft of our barn.
While your tree is being loaded, visit our Gift Shop. You will want to warm up by our old-fashioned cook stove. Enjoy free hot apple cider and peanuts while shopping for Christmas gifts, Christmas decorations, and other decorating items. There are fun gifts for the kids too. Also available are wreaths freshly made at our farm and garland cut to any length you desire.
The Holiday Season begins with a Fall Festival the second weekend in October. You can find your tree and pre-tag it for pick-up after Thanksgiving. We have area vendors - candy, honey, wine, apples, quilts - in our loft of the barn. Kids can jump in the straw pile, play in the corn pile, and participate in numerous games. Hot dogs and smores are available for roasting over an open fire.
Kragel’s Tree Farm also grows Black Hills Spruce and Norway Spruce trees for your landscaping and windbreak needs. These trees are available in early spring. Our selection of trees are either balled and burlapped in our fields or container grown. We can also provide any other nursery stock for your planting needs. Delivery options are available, along with local tree spading service.
